For "____."

A friend of mine once said something very wise, "Justin you need to post a blog update."

Upon hearing this, I thought to myself, "Wow, what a profound thing to say," for it has, in fact, been almost 5 months since my last post.

What can I say, this semester has been a complete and utter blur to me. I haven't had much time to think of posting any blog updates, but I see now that posting updates is probably good for you-it helps you keep track of time, events, and probably even your life.

Besides the typical school-infested life a college student undergoes, I feel like I have also been undergoing a character shift in the past year. I am less interested with wasting time "hanging around with friends" and quite frankly would rather just go home sometimes and study, read, or do something else. Is that weird? Probably. Unhealthy? Quite possibly.

I've noticed that the more I am interested in just spending time at home studying (whether it be school or not) or simply not socializing, the more I have to remind myself "A healthy Christian MUST have fellowship." I know the Bible says that, and I know that most of my friends and family would agree, but why is that? I think it's because God called us out of the world to become part of something bigger--the body of Christ! What an honor it is to say that I was saved by Jesus Christ to become a member of like-minded, like-hearted people as me.

At the same time, we often forget to put focus on fellowship with others and alternatively decide to spend all of our time investing in ourselves, rather than invest in others. It's kind of scary, to picture a church in which everyone just went their own separate ways and did not hang out with each other, help each other, teach other, and serve each other. It kind of wouldn't really be much of a body at all, more like a pile of dead dry bones just sitting there.

So that's one thing I've learned this year: in order to be a healthy Christian, you've got to be a healthy body. You've gotta invest in others if you want God to invest in you.
